Appearance/construction (4 points)

First of all the cigar looks phenomenal. The wrapper has a beautiful sungrown color with little veins on it. It is smooth and the band looks precious with golden, red and white colors. The foot is well packed and the smell is very sweet and rich. Makes me think a chocolate cigar glazed in honey, that is how sweet it is;) Allright, let`s clip the cap and off to smokin`!

Flavor (4 points)

1/3: The beginning is very oily and it has a very soft mouthfeel to it. Flavors are mild to medium. The major picture at this point in sweetness with a hint of cocoa, cedar and light coffee with milk. Just when you thought the pepper is missing it reminds you of it`s presence in the exhale through the nose(retro-haling). Very good start!

2/3: Allright, now we`re on! Deep toasted and sweet flavors. It`s like a black coffee with sugar. At the same time I notice the oil is gone and I`m getting plenty of more drier smoke out of the cigar but the sweetness compensates it well. This is good!

3/3: Now the earthiness comes around and the mouthfeel is very heavy with lots of thick white smoke. On the palate it is close to second third but the difference is the earthiness. The nicotine also kicks nicely now so this big Fuente has got some strength to it as well. Always a pleasure to smoke a stick that has no harshness or bitterness even during the last third!

Smoking experience (4 points)

It`s quite usual to have burn problems with large ring size cigars(50+). I think the most common one is the uneven burn line which can be caused by several things(uneven humidity and packing etc.). Despite the ring gage this cigar burned well excluding a few touch ups. The draw was just the way I like it, not too tight not too loose. The light gray ash was very consistent all the way down to the nub and held on over an inch everytime before I had to make it drop. I`m sure we all know there is nothing so frustrating than a cigar having problems with the burn and the draw and as a gratitude you get your pants covered in ash;) Fortunately this was nothing like that!

Quality-price ratio (4,5 points)

Arturo Fuente has a lot of VERY expensive cigars (Opus-X) but honestly this one is affordable. It has a lot of well packed quality tobacco in it and it also has a wrapper that has been aged for 8 to 10 years. Very good cigar with a good price, check it out!
